Google vs Apple: Which will be better in 11 years?

Google went public 11 years ago, and early buyers have done alright for themselves. Class A shares have enjoyed a a split-adjusted gain of nearly 1,300 percent since their first close.

"Fast Money" traders believe the company's prospects looks just as promising in the 11 years to come. They contended that Google holds more upside than technology giant Apple, currently the largest company in the world by market capitalization.

"I'd rather go with Google, which has multiple revenue streams and they've also shown to be a much better venture capitalist" through acquisitions, said trader Brian Kelly.

Kelly expressed concern about Apple's possible reliance on the iPhone for growth in a "saturated" smartphone market. He noted that Google has branched out through acquisitions like YouTube and internal investments.

Trader Karen Finerman—who owns Google personally and Apple through her firm Metropolitan Capital Advisors—also touted the variety of businesses at Google and its "moon shot" projects. The company later this year will set up a new operating structure under a holding company Alphabet, which will house its newer projects like Internet service, health services and self-driving cars.

Google looks more appealing as it seems "very hard to be replicated," added trader Guy Adami. Trader Tim Seymour—who owns both stocks—also prefers Google, saying it holds a place as "one of the most important companies in the world."

Is Moto G (3rd Gen) really waterproof? Here’s what you can and can’t do

Moto G (3rd Gen): Waterproof or not? We did the full test.

Everyone loves the idea of a waterproof phone. Rain, spills, a drop into a puddle—these are the things we have to be so careful about otherwise, but a phone that braves these elements gives you peace of mind. That’s what the 3rd generation Moto G claims. But is it really waterproof? Well not exactly, but it’s close. Waterproof is not the same thing as water-resistant. The Moto G is water-resistant, so it does a good job of not being affected by liquids—but to a certain degree. We decided to test the Moto G’s water resistance, dunking it in a bucket, placing it by the pool while swimming, taking a call in the rain, spilling all sorts of liquids on it, playing music while taking a shower, and so on.
The good news is that our Moto G is still working flawlessly. The bad news is that if you thought you could do all of the above without a glitch, you were wrong.

What the Moto G’s water-proofing can do The thing you should pay the most attention to is this: The Moto G’s water resistance is a protective measure, not a utility feature. Motorola doesn’t really want you to go swimming with this phone in an arm band, or leave it out in the torrential rain. But it wants to ensure that in case something unexpected happens, like you spill water on it or it dropped it in a puddle, the phone will be safe. Still, take the usual precautions and don’t spill coffee on it just to prove a point.

That said, you can intentionally expose it to areas where water damage is likely. For instance, you can take it with you in the shower (even though it's mono audio output) and listen to your tunes while you bathe. You can also take a call while out in the rain and you won't have any trouble. Just remember to wipe the speaker grill on the front, otherwise the voice seems muffled.

What the Moto G's water-proofing can't do
The Moto G's water resistance protects it from immersion in water up to one metre, so don't go crazy and swim with it. You also can't use it under water anyway—the touchscreen does not register input when immersed; the few times it does, it hardly works.
© Provided by Indian Express Moto G (3rd Gen): Waterproof or not? We did the full test. In fact, even when your phone's screen is wet, you won't be able to use the touchscreen with the usual precision. Taps don't register well, and swipes simply don't work. You'll need to wipe before you can swipe.
When the Moto G was wet, we also faced one other issue: sometimes, we would get a message saying the microSD card is corrupt. Once the phone was wiped clean, it would work perfectly again. Suspecting that this was a problem with the card, we tried a brand new card—and again, the problem persisted. The card does work eventually, but just know that while wet, it might be a problem. So if you have set your camera to save images to the memory card, then there is a chance something you click with a wet phone might not get saved. We didn't face that issue, but to be on the safe side, save your images on the internal memory.
Based on our tests, we are comfortable recommending a few steps to take in case of a water accident:

What to do when your Moto G gets wet
Make sure your back cover is secured tightly. Press all the edges just to be sure.
Disconnect any power banks or chargers connected to the device.
Clean and dry the speaker grills on the front as often as you can. These get affected easily and your sound will be muffled if you don't dry them.
Once you are out of the "water disaster zone", switch off your phone, open the back cover, and wipe everything clean. Water seeps into the back cover even if it is shut properly, but stays in this area without going further.
Once your phone is dry, switch it back on and continue using as usual.

Jailbreak iPhone: Everything you need to know

What is Jailbreaking?

If you want to jailbreak your iPhone or want to find out the latest about jailbreaking then you’re come to the right place.
Jailbreaking is the process of removing restrictions in iOS, and allow root access to the iOS file system so that it can run software that has not been approved by Apple. It allows users to install jailbreak apps, tweaks and themes from Cydia to customize the look and feel of their device, and also enhance the functionality.

Can I Jailbreak my iPhone?

You can currently jailbreak all iPhone models. Check our jailbreak page for the links to the latest jailbreak guide depending on iOS software update for the step-by-step instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone.

Sketchy report claims Apple is planning to launch 5-inch iPhone 6s with Full HD display

Apple is planning to add a third smartphone to its iPhone 6s lineup which will include a 5-inch Full HD display, according to a new report, citing Foxconn insiders. The handset’s size will make it an ideal option for those who find the existing iPhone 6 too small, and the iPhone 6 Plus too big.

The sketch above, which was published today by G for Gamesreportedly depicts the new 5-inch iPhone, which is expected to look just like the iPhone 6 — only bigger.

“Accordingly, the smartphone will pack an 8 MP camera complemented by a dual-LED flash, and will rock a full HD 5-inch display, powered by an A9 processor,” the report reads.

That would make it a big upgrade over the iPhone 6, with a sharper display and a faster processor. However, if these claims are true, it means the 5-inch device will not get the same camera upgrade as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which are expected to get new 12-megapixel Sony sensors.

It seems like this would be somewhat confusing to many Apple customers — especially as the device will look so similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s — and with that being the case, we recommend taking these claims with a pinch of salt.

While it is possible that Apple will launch a new iPhone 6c this year, the device is rumored to be smaller than the iPhone 6s with a 4-inch display, and could carry a more affordable design and specifications, like the iPhone 5c. It almost certainly won’t have a Full HD display and an A9 chip.

Apple will announce its new iPhones at a keynote scheduled for September 9, according to a recent report, so we’ll find out more about its plans then.

A fake ad for colorful ‘iPhone 6s’ has shown up on YouTube

While Apple has not yet announced the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, that hasn’t stopped someone from making an ad all about Apple’s next smartphone.
While the description of the video uploaded to YouTube recently tries to indicate that the ad is a “video from an Apple Office,” and, for whatever reason, tries to pass itself off as something official from the Cupertino-based company, it’s an obviously fake ad with more similarities to older iPod commercials than anything iPhone related. Especially with Apple’s most recent iPhone ads.
The video itself is actually put together well enough, for what it’s worth, and it’s a fun watch. Unfortunately, while the video showcases plenty of iPhone 5c-inspired colors, there’s actually no space gray or gold option in this alternate future.
Check the user-created ad below.

For the rest of us, we’ll have to wait until September to see the next iteration within the iPhone lineup, with September 9 the expected media event date.

Are you looking forward to the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus?

Most popular Android Smartphones, 1H 2015

It is the time again that we could check what was going on in the past half year in the smartphone market. Which device is your favorite and is it in this top list? Let’s check it one by one.

Data source:Antutu benchmark, from 1st , Jan to 1st July.

  Global Top 10:

Let’s also start with the global ranking as usual. In fact no matter in global ranking or some of hot topic countries, Samsung with its flagships would be the biggest winner. Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4 and Xiaomi 4 ranked top 5. With the high cost performance, Asus Zenfone 5 get the 6th. Due to the successful marketing of Indian market, Oneplus and Redmi note also performed well in this global market.

  Mainland China Top 10:

We will see mainland ranking first of all. Three brands lead the top 10, Xiaomi,Meizu and Huawei Honor. It is a little surprise to see Lenovo got a seat in the top 10.

  HK Top 10:

Hk is complete different situation with mainland China. Hk users have some specific favor of Korea devices. 7 of top 10 are Korea devices. Two of these 7 are LG and others are all Samsung. LG got the first chair among these those competitors. However, only Redmi and Oneplus -brands from mainland China got in the HK top 10.

  Taiwan Top 10 :

Taiwan top 10 is always related with its local brands. We can see that from the coverage of HTC and Asus.

  Korea Top 10:

Local brands’ power could be presented best in Korea top 10. Samsung is the pride of Korea.

  America Top 10:

American users’ choice are kind of diversity. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 covered more than 10 percent of the total. Oneplus was still a hot topic in the past 6 months. Nexus6\Nexus5 never lost their battle in their homeland.

  Germany Top 10:

  India Top 10:

Finally , let’s see the top list of Indian market. Pursuit of the highest cost-effective device is the standard of pick a smartphone in India. That’s why Xiaomi and Oneplus did very well in India. Local brand Yu Yureka(A05510) got the second seat. Korean devices did not become their dream picking, unlike in other Asian countries.
